During his holidays, Pierre Keller discovers the work of Richard James North, a 53-year-old English painter exiled in Mykonos. His acrylic painting technique with textured effect is reminiscent of the decorative style of ceramics from his adopted island. For the Montreux Jazz, he portrays musicians streaked with various shades who are framed by a frieze of a dancing and elated audience. The poster is a feast of Mediterranean colours. Based in Mykonos since the mid-1980s, North has specialised in painting on clothing, but also on wood panels and objects such as electric guitars and kayaks. He also created a series of record covers for BMG Records.
